James was born on November 3rd, 1933 in Broughty Ferry. James' father was James Young Brown and his mother was Jane Farquharson Whittet.  His paternal grandparents were Charles Brown and Ann Bell Elder; his maternal grandparents were William Whittet and Jessie Wilson Sivewright. He had a brother and two sisters, named <Unknown>, Ellen and Elizabeth.  He died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, double pneumonia, at the age of 75 on December 14th, 2008.1
